CASE MANAGEMENT

In addition to HIV case management, we collaborate with Coastal Family Health and the Veteran's Administration for persons seeking medical attention.

TRANSITIONAL HOUSING

SMATF offers a 90-day transitional housing program for homeless persons living with HIV.  We work with individuals to secure housing, food, and safety.  Clients must meet HUD requirements/guidelines.

DIRECT EMERGENCY FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

We are able to provide financial assistance on a one-time emergency basis for housing, utilities, and medication.  Most of these funds are made available through grants and private donations (as funds are available.)

SCHOOL/COMMUNITY EDUCATION

Our staff provides HIV/AIDS education classes for the six county area.  We are able to adapt our presentations to the needs of the group.  Please contact our office if you would like us to provide a session for your organization, group, or business.

We contract with the Mississippi State Education Department to provide HIV prevention presentations to junior high and high school groups.  Call (228) 385-1214 to schedule a date for your school.

FREE HIV TESTING

SMATF provides free HIV testing.  Please call to setup an appointment. 

HIV/AIDS/STD 24-HOUR HOTLINE

The Mississippi State Department of Health has contracted with SMATF to provide a 24-hour, seven-day a week HIV/AIDS/STD information hotline for the state of Mississippi.  Trained SMATF volunteers staff this hotline.
